LIIAR Anaylsis

Language - My front page of a college magazine should include the following conventions: A Masthead which should be short, memorable magazine title presented as a large, dominant icon to be noticed. It should also include a main image which should fill a full page. It must be an MCU (face and shoulders only) and the subjects face must be able to be clearly seen, and make eye contact with the audience. Also it should have a bright colour scheme with clear house-style of two or three main colours. Thumbnail images that illustrate other articles, anchorage, Price & barcode, teasing contents along the bottom, Competitions and free gifts and a main article / feature advertised must relate to the main image.

Ideology – In my college magazine I will have certain messages and morals. My messages would include that the college is a good place to have an excellent education and achieve the best grades possible. This would apply to my target audience which would be students from the age of 16 to 20. Another message that I would want to have would be that my chosen college was good social environment and place to meet new people and make new friends and actually enjoy coming to college. I would want my college magazine to show students who the college is like and how you will enjoy your time at the college

Institutions – when producing my college magazine I will include the brand or the place of what the magazine in representing so in my case it would representing a college so the name of the magazine would be the name of the college. This would be the master head so it would stand out and the first you would read when you saw the magazine. For my college magazine I would represent my institution of the choice of college to attract existing or new students to the college. The contents would include subject teachers, the principal and some off  the best graded students.  This is vital to include because if the front page of the magazine didn’t have this information of the college then it would be useless.

Audience – my target audience would be new or existing students from the ages of 16 to 20. The audience could include students from other existing college wanting to transfer to my chosen college from there other college. Also I would include new students coming from high school. I would aim my college at mostly the new students then existing students as there would know the information about the college where as the new students would know anything about the college so it would help them.

Representation – I would represent my college with a positive way so it would give the college a good representation and would also get more students wanting to study at my chosen college. I would also choose to represent my target audience by using existing students to show that my college is aimed at my chosen target audience. I would represent my existing college students by stereotyping there look and personality to a chosen subject so new students what the course would look like if it was a student.
